TAMPA – Bethune-Cookman opens its 2017-18 Fall Tennis schedule Friday at the Bedford Cup hosted by USF.

All the state's women's teams except for Florida are scheduled to compete in the tournament sponsored by the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida. The annual traveling tournament began in 2011 and has been hosted by USF, FGCU, Florida, Florida State and UNF.
 
Matches will take place starting at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Finals and consolation finals in both singles and doubles will take place on Sunday. Times of the Sunday matches are to be determined. Parking and admission is free.

B-CU UPDATE: Last year, the doubles tandem of Alejandra Vidal and Phatsimo Ruele advanced to their bracket championship while Vidal and Karen Romero advanced to semifinal play in singles … Vidal made it to the quarterfinals in 2015 … this is the B-CU debut for freshman Rehaana Butt and junior Sheerly Bueno … Also competing this weekend is All Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference performer Matea Roki.
