Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

@BCUvolleyball Stomps NCCU 3-1 Behind Jefferson, Hill

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Jordan Jefferson posted a 15-kill, 16-dig double-double while Meraiah Hill had 10 blocks in Bethune-Cookman's 3-1 (25-20,28-26,20-25,25-18) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division match Friday in Historic Moore Gym.

The Lady Wildcats (12-13 overall, 4-2 MEAC) won their fourth straight league match and remained unbeaten in league play (13-0) in Moore Gym in the Brittany Williams era.

A sophomore posting her 27th career double-double Jefferson had five kills in the fourth set as Bethune-Cookman stormed out to leads of 6-0 and 11-3. North Carolina Central (4-16,2-4) got as close as 20-16 before the Lady Wildcats ran off four unanswered points to close to match point and would seal the win on a Jefferson kill.

Hill, a senior, came within one block of matching her school single-match record of 11 blocks set earlier this season against Jackson State.

Tynesha Adams had nine kills and four blocks, and Faith Landreneaux eight kills and two blocks as B-CU avenged a 3-2 loss to the Eagles in the conference opening last month.

J'nai Higgins had 39 kills and 10 assists, while Shayla Eugene and Skyla Whitaker posted 15 and 10 digs, respectively.

North Carolina Central had a chance to steal the second set ahead 26-25, but two Sterling Williamson kills and a save from Higgins helped the Lady Wildcats take a 28-26 victory.

Bethune-Cookman hosts North Carolina A&T Sunday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. Higgins and Hill will be honored in pre-match ceremonies.
