DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Briana Hardee scored a career-high 21 points and also had 11 rebounds, but Bethune-Cookman saw its 14-game winning streak end Monday in a 62-55 setback to North Carolina A&T in Historic Moore Gym.
C'Coriea Foy scored 16 points a
nd Alexus Lessears 11 as the Aggies (19-8 overall, 14-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) used a 7-0 run to pull away from a fourth-quarter 48-48 tie.
Bethune-Cookman (22-5,14-1) closed to three points twice, the last on a Hardee jumper that made it 57-54 with 1:31 remaining, but could not come any closer.
Hardee made her first seven shots and finished 9-13 from the field with her second double-double of the season. Her traditional three-point play gave the Lady Wildcats a 28-27 halftime lead.
Ashanti Hunt finished with 13 points, six rebounds and three assists while
Emily Williams had nine points and six boards for the Lady Wildcats, who lost for the first time since Dec. 28 at Miami.
The Lady Wildcats conclude the regular season Thursday at Florida A&M.
