HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Bethune-Cookman Women's Golf tied for ninth place overall on Sunday afternoon as the Wildcats participated in the annual Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford College at Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
 
Bethune-Cookman senior Mackenzie Butzer (78-76=154, +10) tied for 12th on the player's leaderboard after the Canadian fired a second round 4-over par 76 to lower her first round scorecard by two strokes.
 
Matching Butzer on the final leaderboard was teammate and junior Yudika Rodriguez (78-76=154, +10) as the Puerto Rico native mirrored her teammate with duplicate round scores to finish tied for 12th in the field as well.
 
Isabela Miravite (81-77=158, +14) tied for 23rd in the field after lowering her first round scorecard by four strokes in scoring a second round 5-over 77 on Sunday.
 
The final BCU golfer factoring into the scoring for the Maroon and Gold was Samyra Lewis (85-89=174, +30) finishing tied for 63rd overall.
 
Bethune-Cookman (322-318=640, +64) would finish tied alongside Presbyterian (319-321=640, +64) for ninth place in the tournament. The Wildcats lowered their opening day score by four strokes on Sunday.
 
Seton Hall claimed the team trophy finishing in first place, as the Pirates were eight strokes head of Albany who finished as the runner-up. Appalachian State and Quinnipiac tied for third, respectfully.
 
Appalachian State's Melany Chong (73-74=147, +3) took home the top individual medalist award. And it was USC Upstate's Pan Paksanont finishing as the tournament individual runner-up.
 
Bethune-Cookman gets back to the course March 24-26, when the Wildcats women's golf team participates in the Babs Steffens Invitational hosted by Stetson University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
