ASHEVILLE, NC - The fall slate comes to an end for Bethune-Cookman golf as the Wildcats completed the 36-hole French Broad Collegiate Invitational, Tuestay at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.
The event was originally scheduled as a traditional 54-hold, three-round event, but inclement weather shortened Monday to only one round with the final round concluding the event Tuesday after 36 holes.
The Wildcats dropped over 20 strokes from round one to round two as they finished 10th in a field that included programs such as Clemson, Charlotte, and host UNC Asheville.
Clemson claimed the event with a 290+288=578 (+2) on the week. They were followed by Charlotte, UNC Asheville, and Eastern Kentucky to round out the top four.
Bethune-Cookman posted team scores of 350 and 331 for a 681 over two rounds.
For the fourth time in the fall season,
Reese Wilson led the way for the Cats, carding rounds of 86 and 75 for a 161 (+17) on the week - good for a 32nd overall finish in the event.
Lathika Krishna and
Skylar Kew finished tied for 44th, each shooting 172 over the two rounds.
Freshman
Mia Bernier and
Lana Bowen rounded out the field for the Wildcats. Bernier posted rounds of 93 and 83 over two days, while Bowen carded a 98 and 94.
B-CU will now turn its attention to the spring schedule, beginning with the El Campeon Collegiate on Feb. 23 hosted by Lehigh in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
