SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Bethune-Cookman broke into the win column the best way possible Friday as the Lady Wildcats downed North Carolina Central 6-0 in their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opener.

The Lady Wildcats (1-5,1-0) snapped a five-match losing streak by sweeping all seven matches over the Eagles (0-9,0-1).

Karen Romero picked up her first singles victory of the season and also won in doubles. Phatismo Ruele also won her first singles match of the season.

Alejandra Vidal won both her matches and pulled within seven matches of the 100-victory mark.

Bethune-Cookman meets North Carolina A&T Saturday morning.
