WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --Quamecha Morrison moved into the top ten nationally, and
Jeremiah Peters moved atop the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference performance lists after this weekend's Dual Meet Madness at the JDL Fast Track.
Morrison cleared 5'10 ¾ in the high jump, the nation's ninth best height so far this season. Her PR is 6'0 ¾."
Peters reaffirmed his status as the MEAC's top field performer with his shot of 56' 5 ¼." He also had a weight throw of 54' ½."
Head Coach
Donald Cooper also liked what he saw in
Monae Nichols setting a PR in her 60 hurdles win (8.58) and DeJa Davis' 3:24.87 in the 3000 meters that has her contending for a conference title.
"Overall, it was a good day of improvement," Cooper said. "We wanted to use this as an opportunity to get on a flat track to simulate what conference conditions will be like. There's still some work to be done with the newcomers if we want to contend with North Carolina A&T, Norfolk State, FAMU and Morgan for the conference title. It's time to get to it."
