GREESNBORO, N.C. – Shayla Eugene tied the Bethune-Cookman University single season digs record in Friday's 3-0 (25-16,25-12,25-15) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference loss to North Carolina A&T Friday night.
The senior from Fort Worth, Tex., finished with 17 digs to move her into a tie with
Jordan Jefferson's 2018 total of 464. Eugene's 874 digs at BCU is both the third-best all-time and most for a two-year player in the program.
Miranda White had six kills, three blocks and eights for the Lady Wildcats, now 8-22 overall and 5-8 in MEAC play.
Sterling Williamson and
Faith Landreneaux each added four kills.
The Lady Wildcats conclude the regular season Sunday at North Carolina Central at 1 p.m. The winner will earn the second seed for the Southern Division at next week's conference tournament.
