CHARLESTON, S.C. – Daniella Hatcher scored 15 points. and
Tania White and
Ashlie Howell 12 each as Bethune-Cookman unleashed a barrage of 15 three-pointers in their 81-41 victory over host Charleston Southern Tuesday night.
The Lady Wildcats (4-0) shot 55.6 (15-27) from behind the arc as seven different players connected on at least one three-pointer as the team posted the most three-pointers in a game in the 21
st century. The previous best was 13 on three occasions, most recently against South Carolina State on January 3, 2018.
White connected on her first four three-point attempts to finish with 12 points, while Howell was 6-7 from the field inside as BCU improved to 4-0 for the first time since 1992.
Hatcher scored 12 of her points in the first quarter as BCU shot 10-15 from the field en route to a 24-9 first quarter lead. She scored the first four points, then BCU would use an 8-0 run to blow open a 10-7 game.
Ciara Thompson,
Camary Harris and
Morgan Beacham combined to make five three-pointers in the second quarter as BCU extended its lead to 43-20.
Thirteen of the 14 players scored and everyone had at least one rebound. Howell led the balanced rebounding effort with,
Kiana Williams had six assists and
Ashanti Hunt three steals.
BCU will host Troy Sunday at 3 p.m.

NOTES: In addition to being the first 4-0 start since 1992, BCU matched the most wins for a November and posted its first undefeated month since going 8-0 in February 2017.
