@BCUSoftball Concludes Play At Stetson

DELAND, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman concluded its stay at the Stetson Invitational with a 3-1 loss to Fairfield and a 3-0 loss to the host Hatters Sunday.

FAIRFIELD 3, BCU 1

The Wildcats (7-21) took a 1-0 in the third when Jacki Smith scored on Brianna Paysinger's bunt.

Fairfield, a 11-0 winner Saturday, strung together three RBI singles in the sixth to take the lead.

Quianah Mitchell had two hits for the Wildcats.  
 
STETSON 3 BCU 0
In the 100th meeting between the two Volusia County programs,  Paysinger had two hits.

Cheyenne Smith hit a two-out single and got to third on a Paysinger single in the firstr, but BCU couldn't capitalize.

Alexis Bermudez threw a six-hitter with four strikeouts in the loss.

BCU hosts Western Illinois in a doubleheader Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Sunnyland Park.
