DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - -Bethune-Cookman made its 2019 home debut Tuesday with a sweep of Mount Saint Mary's, taking victories of 8-4 and 5-2 at Sunnyland Park.
After 21 tournament games to start the season, BCU (7-14) is now in a stretch with 12 games in Volusia County, including seven at Sunnyland and five at Stetson this weekend.
GAME 1
Jacki Smith went 4-4, and BCU used a three-run fifth to break open a tied game.
Kaiya Epps-Lee's single drove home Jackie Smith to give BCU a 5-4 lead, the
Brianna Sanders stole home and Azarua Wilson plated Epps-Lee.
Cheyenne Smith scored on a throwing error in the sixth to give BCU an insurance run.
Mount St. Mary's jumped out to a 2-0 lead in its first at-bat, but the Wildcats responded with a three-run first that included Jackie Smith and
Cheyenne Smith each scoring on a wild pitch and Sanders bunting home
Brianna Paysinger.
Cheyenne Smith scored three runs for BCU.

GAME 2
Sasha Killings homered in a three-hit effort, and
Yvonne Siordia also had three hits to help BCU conclude the sweep.
Killings and
Quianah Mitchell scored on unearned runs in the second to give BCU a 2-0 lead. Epps-Lee doubled home
Briana Zavala in the third, and Siorda drove in
Carrington Robinson with a fifth-inning double.
Alexis Bermudez worked three no-hit innings to earn the save.
