JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Deja Davis,
Quamecha Morrison and
Monae Nichols were event winners at the UNF Invitational this weekend.
Davis' 5000 meters winning time of 17:44.52 bested Florida State's Fatema Jaffer by six seconds and was 18 seconds faster than Notre Dame's Madison Ronzone. The time is also the fastest in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference so far this season.
Morrison took the high jump (5'7 3/4") and Nichols the long jump (19'10 ¾"). Nichols' jump at last week's Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic is still the 17
th best in the nation.
Bursting onto the national scene this weekend was senior
Sade McCreath-Tardiel, who clocked an 11.62 100 meter dash that's the nation's 55
th fastest.
Four other BCU performers moved atop the MEAC standings:
BCU travels to Miami Friday and Saturday for the Hurricane Alumni Invitational.
