NAPLES, Italy – Former Bethune-Cookman University Track and Field standout Sade McCreath-Tardiel finished 12^th in the 100 meters Tuesday at the World University Games.

Representing Canada, McCreath-Tardiel clocked an 11.65, finishing third in her heat. On Monday, she advanced to the semifinals on the strength of her 11.58 time in the opening round.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to compete on the international level, but today's results left me disappointed," McCreath-Tardiel said via text. "I plan on using this to fuel myself for Canadian Nationals in two weeks."

McCreath-Tardiel, a Toronto native, was a member of the BCU 2018 women's 4X100 relay team that qualified for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships, marking the first-ever appearance for a BCU women's relay team at that meet. She also made two NCAA East Preliminary appearances in the 100 meters.
