DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
Bailey Robinson had 10 kills and
Ryleigh Taylor had five services aces in addition to her 22 assists as Bethune-Cookman downed Norfolk State 3-0 (25-20,25-16,26-24) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match Sunday afternoon.
After having a 15-match conference home winning streak snapped Friday against Howard, the Lady Wildcats (4-10 overall, 1-1 MEAC) enjoyed their first sweep of the season with the win over the Spartans (0-11,0-2).
Robinson had five of her kills in the third set as BCU took a 24-20 lead to pull within match point. Norfolk State tied it at 24-24, but a Taylor kill and a Spartan attack error helped the Wildcats clinch.
Taylor's five services aces came on a 6-0 run in the second set.
Faith Landreneaux added six kills, while
Jordan Jefferson finished with five kills and 15 digs.
Shayla Eugene added 14 digs, while
Miranda White (four kills) posted 11 digs as BCU held Norfolk State to an .009 hitting percentage.
BCU hosts Jacksonville Tuesday evening.
