Tallahassee, Fla. – The Bethune-Cookman volleyball team fell to Prairie View A&M, 3-1, in the final game of this weekend's SWAC conference cluster Monday morning in Tallahassee.
Prairie View A&M (1-19, 1-5 SWAC) took the first two sets to open the morning. The Wildcats (3-14, 3-3 SWAC) quickly recovered, jumping out to a 10-1 third set lead and cruising to a 25-15 win. B-CU threatened a serious comeback, pushing the Panthers to the brink of a fifth set, but Prairie View prevailed to take the contest, 3-1.
Jasmine Moore and
Victoria Samedy finished the morning with 17 and 15 kills, respectively.
Alleah Dallas and
Niara Hightower commanded the front of the net with six block assists each.
Wildcats head coach
Brittany Williams is excited about her team after a 2-1 weekend in SWAC play.
"The team definitely made some huge strides throughout this mini cluster," Williams said. "A lot of the things we focused on this week, we brought into match play. As a staff, we are proud and excited to get back into the gym and be back at home next weekend.
This weekend, the Wildcats will return to Moore Gymnasium for a pair of games, beginning with Alabama State on Friday, Oct. 15 at p.m.
