DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast took the second game of the series with a 16-2 victory over Bethune-Cookman Saturday night at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
How it Happened
Boris Pena's seventh inning leadoff homer was the bright spot for the Wildcats (1-5) as they were outhit 18-7 by the Eagles (5-2).
Matthew Garcia had two hits for the Wildcats and scored in the ninth on Bradyn Gatenby's single.
Malik Stephens,
Manny Souffrain and
Jeremy Garcia each registered hits of their own in the game to round things out for the Wildcats
Garbriel White took the loss for B-CU, exiting after three and a third innings.
Nolan Santos worked three innings and
Derrius York two in relief.
Harrison Povey hit two home runs and drove in seven for FGCU, who scored four in the fourth to break open a scoreless tie.
