COLUMBIA, S.C. – Bethune-Cookman Track & Field travels to Columbia, South Carolina this weekend to compete in the South Carolina Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina. The two-day event kicks off Friday, Feb. 3, at the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex. Doors open both days at 8 a.m.

The South Carolina Invitational begins with the women's open weight throw, men's open shot put, men's open long jump and women's open pole vault on Friday at 10 a.m. The track events start with the women's 60-meter trials at 11 a.m., followed immediately afterwards by the men's 60-meter trials at 11:30 a.m.
 
A total of 33 teams will be competing in this year's field, including Campbell, Jacksonville, Mercer, North Carolina A&T, South Carolina State and USC Upstate.
 
The Wildcats will be back in action again next weekend (February 9-10) when competing at the Florida Invitational, which will be the fourth time during the 2023 indoor season the Maroon and Gold will be competing in an event in Gainesville.
 
FAN INFORMATION
Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex does have a CLEAR BAG POLICY that is in effect. Learn everything you need to know about the Clear Bag Policy by clicking 
here. There is also a WATER BOTTLE POLICY for all patrons and that is: one clear, plastic disposable water bottle is permitted. No hard, non-clear refillable bottles are allowed inside the facility. Also, for fans in attendance, there is a STRICT no outside food or beverage policy for any and all patrons.
 
TICKET INFORMATION
Ticket transactions are CASH ONLY. There is a $10 fee for any adults wishing to attend the meet. Children that are 17 and under gain entry for $5, while kids 2 and under are free.
 
RECAPPING THE ALACHUA COUNTY INVITATIONAL
Bethune-Cookman Track & Field continued its strong start to the indoor portion of the 2022-23 schedule last weekend, with the Wildcats turning in a host of season-best performances at the Alachau County Invitational.
 
On the women's side, 
Amenda Saint-Louis finished first in the 300m dash with a season-best mark of 40.28 seconds.
 
For the men, 
Nathan Metelus finished first in the 300m with a 34.16-second time. Right behind him was Shanard Walker with a 34.22 – both season-bests, respectively. 
Malcolm Brown finished third in the 500m with a time of 1:11.86, while 
Emmanuel Corral finished third with a time of 4:15.75.
 
The men's relay team finished first overall with a 3:15.82.
 
Guy Bond turned in another stellar performance in the field, finishing first with a 6-9.75 in the high jump – a personal-best record and just shy of the facility record.
