Box Score DeLAND, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman dropped a nonconference women's tennis match away to Stetson on Wednesday, with the Wildcats falling to the Hatters 6-0 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
Bethune-Cookman (0-5) picked up two set points at No. 1 doubles before eventually falling by a 6-2 score line. The team of
Diarra Thomas and
Janet Imbo Nloga faced Stetson's No. 1 doubles pair in Alanna DiFrancesco and Anais Gabriel.
The Wildcats dropped the No. 2 doubles position in 6-0 fashion to allow Stetson (8-3) to claim the doubles point as a team. The Hatters' Maxence Lippens and Pilar Harper took down BCU's doubles pair of
Keona Burley and
Loncey Elie, respectfully.
In singles play, the Wildcats'
Courdeja Clark was defeated by Stetson's Laetitia Rizk 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 position.
Magda Hedrzak defeated BCU's Burley at No. 3 singles in straight sets (6-0, 6-0). Meanwhile, it was Pilar Astigarraga taking down Elie of the Maroon and Gold in 6-1, 6-0 fashion at No. 4 singles.
No. 1 singles was claimed by Nadejia Maslove over BCU's Thomas in a 6-3, 6-2 score.
Janet Imbo Nloga fell to the Hatters' DiFrancesco by a 6-1, 6-1 line at the No. 2 position.
Bethune-Cookman gets back to action Wednesday, March 1, as the Cats welcome Oakland University to Daytona Beach in a match scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
