OKATIE, SC. – The Wildcats finished ninth out of eleven teams as they wrapped up the Monument Golf Oldfield Invitational, Tuesday morning in Okatie, SC.
The Wildcats shot 976 for the event, improving on their score each day. B-CU opened the event with a round one 330, followed by a 329 in round two, and a season best 317 in round three – the team's best score of the season by ten strokes.
Kamary Leaf and
Emma Hastie led the Wildcats, each with a 242 for the tournament. Leaf shot an 85, 80, and team-best 77, while Hastie shot an 80, 83, and 79. They finished tied for 30 in the field.
Kyleigh Leaf followed with a 244 after an 83, 84, and 77. Skyler Kew finished with a 248 after an 82, 82, and 84.
Jordan Davis rounded out the Wildcats squad.
"It's good to see the work that we put in during the weeks start to pay off in competition," Wildcats head coach Harry Stokes said. "If we continue to improve the way we have over these few weeks, we'll be in a good position to content at the SWAC Championship and PGA Works. Our third round was our best of the year and we still have plenty of room to improve. We just have to keep doing the right things in practice and the results will follow."
The Wildcats will hit the road again this weekend as they head to Nashville for the Starks Invitational. The tournament begins on Monday, March 6.
