MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State engineered a four-run ninth inning to stun the Wildcats and sweep the weekend series, Sunday afternoon in Montgomery, Ala.

Header How it Happened

Alabama State (27-14 14-3 SWAC) scored first in the contest after an RBI single in the third.

The Wildcats (20-18, 11-5 SWAC) took the lead a half-inning later. B-CU loaded the bases and plated two on a sacrifice fly by Brian Perez and an RBI single from Luis Tuero.

Another sacrifice fly, this time by Robert Moya made it 3-1 in the top of the fifth

B-CU chipped in two more in the seventh on an two-run homer by Irvin Escobar - his second of the weekend.

Alabama State grabbed one back in the eighth on a solo shot to make it 5-2.

Disaster struck B-CU in the bottom of the ninth, as the Hornets rallied to score four two-out runs, walking off the Wildcats on an RBI single through the left side of the infield that ended things at 6-5.
