Stokes Adds Werle to Incoming Class

Coker transfer comes to Bethune-Cookman

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman Women's Golf Head Coach Harry Stokes announced the signing of Jenna Werle to the 2023 incoming class for the Wildcats on Monday afternoon. She joins Meeya Marquez to the list of incoming student-athletes for BCU Women's Golf.

Jenna Werle, a 5-foot-9 graduate transfer from Cocoa, Florida, arrives to Bethune-Cookman from Coker University, where she spent two seasons with the Cobras.

"I'm very excited to add Jenna [Werle] to our roster," commented Stokes. "We're a young team looking to get more experience, and she fits that perfectly. She's an accomplished player, and she's decorated off the golf course as well.

"This is just a wonderful addition to our program."

This past April, Werle was named the 2023 Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 Award winner for women's golf, presented by the South Atlantic Conference.

Last season, the Cocoa High product was named to the 2021-22 South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, in addition to being selected as a 2021-22 WGCA All-American Scholar.

"I think Jenna [Werle] can be a team leader right away, and I look forward to seeing what we can do in 2023-24," said Stokes.

Werle arrived at Coker prior to the 2021-22 season, having spent time prior to that at The College of Saint Rose.

As a freshman, Werle was named to the third team all-conference. She also earned first team all-conference accolades as a sophomore while winning the individual medalist award at The College of Saint Rose's home tournament.

"This year's signing class was so important for a myriad of reasons," continued Stokes. "We wanted to make sure we recruited student-athletes that could not only fit what we're building here at Bethune-Cookman Athletics, but also fit in meshing with returning players."
