TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Wildcats clicked on both sides of the ball as they took game one of a three game weekend set with bitter rival Florida A&M, Friday night in Tallahassee.

B-CU (26-22, 17-7 SWAC) scored first, opening the first with an unearned run on a FAMU error that allowed
Luis Tuero to score.
The Wildcats grabbed another pair in the third as Hylan hall singled home
Garrett Chun and Tuero to make it 3-0.
The Rattlers (22-24, 16-9 SWAC) took one run back on a wild pitch in the third. They made it 3-2 in the fifth on an RBI single.
B-CU bats came alive in the final three innings, beginning with a three-run sixth fueled by a Rattler error and wild pitch that allowed Hall and Pena to score before
Colton Olasin made it 6-2 with an RBI single up the middle that scored
Irvin Escobar.
Two more runs followed for B-CU in the seventh as
Manny Souffrain grounded out to score Tuero and Escobar walked wih the bases loaded to make it 8-2.
The Wildcats put the game out of reach in the eighth with five runs.

Hylan Hall added another RBI to his night with a double to right center that scored
Malik Stephens.
Manny Souffrain plated Chun with an RBI single before
Robert Moya launched a homer to left that made it 13-2.
Florida A&M scratched one more run in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI double, but it was not enough in the 13-4Â B-CU victory.
Nolan Santos made the start for the Wildcats. In seven innings, he allowed two earned runs on five hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts.
Yoansell Diaz pitched the final two fraoms for B-CU, allowing two runs on two hits with three punchouts.
- Hylan Hall led B-cu with three RBI on a 3-4 night at the plate. He also worked a walk and scored two runs.
- Garrett Chun, Manny Souffrain, Robert Moya, and Irvin Escobar also enjoyed two-RBI nights.
- Moya extended his on-base streak to 30 games.
- Ten strikeouts for Santos ties the B-CU program record of 113 set by Santos a season ago. He needs just one in his final start of the season to break his own record.
- Moya's homer was his seventh of the season. He now has more than any Wildcat finished with in the 2022 season.
- The Wildcats now hold a 1.5 game lead in the SWAC East's No. 2 spot over FAMU.
Game two is set for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
