PRAIRIE VIEW, Tex. - The Wildcat men's track & field team finished fifth and the women's team finished eleventh in the 2023 Southwestern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, last weekend in Prairie View, Tex.

Alabama State took first place on the men's side, finishing with 143 points, followed by Texas Southern with 120, Jackson State with 116, Southern with 85, and the Wildcats with 81.5.

On the women's side, B-CU's 24 points landed them in eleventh. Prairie View A&M took home the conference crown with 159 points overall, their second year in a row as champion.

For the men, three Wildcats took home first place in their respective events. Emmanual Corral won the 3000 Meter Steeplechase with a 9:30.12. Michael Hopkins won the Pole Vault, recording a 14' 11." Isaiah Johnson took home first in the Decathlon with 6381 points.

For the women, Amenda Saint-Louis finished third in the 400 Meter, running a 54.81.
