It was exactly 50 years ago this week that Bethune-Cookman Football returned to action after a bye week, registering a road victory courtesy a 26-0 shutout of Morris Brown.
Â
Wayne Allen rushed for 117 yards and scored two touchdowns, one on the ground and one on a short pass from Willie Collins, who also threw a touchdown to Otis Evans as the Wildcats took a 21-0 lead into the locker room at the half.
Â
A safety and an Earnest Renfroe field goal were all the Wildcats needed as the defense held the Wolverines to 183 total yards for the contest.
Â
The win set the stage for a big matchup with Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) foe Alabama A&M the following week.
