DELAND, Fla. - The fall slate comes to and end for the Wildcats this weekend as the head to nearby DeLand for the Stetson Invite II, Friday through Sunday, Nov. 1-3 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
The last time the Wildcats took to the court was back on October 4 at the SWAC Fall Women's Tournament in Huntville.
Sophomore
Jalayah Shaw and freshman
Zahara El-Zein made the trip for B-CU. Shaw played a tough singles match with Jessica Hess of Southern, ultimately dropping the game 7-5, 6-2.
El-Zein, playing in her second collegiate event in Maroon and Gold, dropped a 7-5, 6-1 decision to Andrea P. Blanca of Prairie View A&M.
The pair dropped an 8-3 doubles match to Jackson State's Zeina Shaaban and Kayleigh Didderiens, who would go on to win the doubles championship.
Stetson entered play this fall off a historic season in DeLand in which they claimed their second ASUN Championship in three years, eventually falling to #14 Florida in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
This weekend marks the second event the Hatters have hosted this fall. In the first Stetson Fall Invitational, the Hatters picked up two wins in doubles play, while capturing three victories in singles against Kennesaw State, Tennessee - Chattanooga, and Louisiana Lafayette.
In their most recent event, the Hatters recorded four singles wins over two days at ITA Southeast Regionals on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
