DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Nike Basketball Camps, one of the nation's leaders in youth instruction, has announced a new basketball camp to be directed by Bethune-Cookman Men's Basketball Head Coach and Athletic Director Reggie Theus. The camp is scheduled to run June 17-20, at Moore Gymnasium on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University.
 
This world-class training experience provides the perfect environment for dedicated young players to take their game to new heights under the direction of Reggie Theus, a two-time NBA All-Star, and the entire Wildcats Men's Basketball staff.
 
"I am excited to begin our partnership with U.S. Sports Camps and looking forward to hosting Nike Basketball Camps at Bethune-Cookman," commented Theus. "This camp will be a great opportunity for kids in the community to improve their skills on the court, make new friends, and have a great time."
 
The camp is designed to be an immersive, 360-degree basketball experience. Each day, campers will go through an intense schedule focused on refining essential skills like ball handling, shooting technique, footwork, conditioning, offensive moves, and team defensive concepts through drills, stations, lectures and scrimmages. Experienced coaches provide personal evaluation for each camper, with additional position-specific training for guards, wings and post players.
 
Highlights of the 2024 Nike Boys Basketball Camp at Bethune-Cookman include the following:

• Daily emphasis on fundamental development, position-specific work, full-court drills and scrimmages
• In-depth offensive and defensive instruction from accomplished college coaches
• Intense conditioning and footwork training to maximize speed, agility and explosiveness
• Video review and personal evaluation for individualized areas of improvement
• Ability-based coaching assignments to ensure the perfect degree of challenge
• Camper amenities including a Nike camp t-shirt and prizes for competition winners

 
The camp is the camp is open to any and all boys of all skill levels ranging from ages 7 to 15, with the camp running daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Campers are asked to please bring lunch each day, in addition to athletic clothing, athletic shoes, a water bottle and a small gym bag or backpack.
