BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sthefany Carvalho has been named SWAC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, as well as SWAC Newcomer of the Week, it was announced Tuesday from the conference office in Birmingham, Ala. 
 
Sthefany Carvalho notches her third and fourth weekly honors of her B-CU career after most recently being named SWAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 17.
 
Carvalho, a graduate student from UAlbany, was a key piece of a three-win week for B-CU, including a 3-1 win over rival Florida A&M at home. In three games, Carvalho totalled 65 digs - including tying her season-high of 32 against FAMU. She also added 22 assists and a kill.
 
The Wildcats return to the court on Friday, October 17 as they host Texas Souther for Pink Night. The team will wear pink jerseys in support of those affected by breast cancer.
