DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Under the direction of Head Coach
Chris Wollett, Bethune-Cookman Women's Tennis plays host to Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Southern University on Friday, March 21, at 1 p.m. The match will take place at Derbyshire Park in Daytona Beach.
Admission to all B-CU Women's Tennis matches is free.

SOUTHERN (La.)
Southern University is under the direction of head coach Jeffrey Conyers. The Jaguars enter the match 0-9 overall, and a mark of 0-3 in SWAC play. The Jaguars fell away to Prairie View A&M 4-3 in a match last weekend in Texas, while they faced off against Florida A&M on Thursday evening prior to arriving in Daytona Beach.
Southern has just one senior on the roster in the form of Baluck Deang (Madison, Wisc.), while five sophomores are spread out amongst the roster. Jessica Hess (Grabouw, South Africa) and Shahd Habib (Cairo, Egypt) are two in the mainstay of the Jaguars lineup.

LAST TIME OUT FOR B-CU (vs. IU Indy)
Allexii Bassette went three sets in her singles match Wednesday, as Bethune-Cookman Women's Tennis stumbled at home to IU Indy, 7-0 at Derbyshire Park in Daytona Beach, Florida. IU Indy took the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 position.
The Jaguars doubles team of Elle Kotre and Calli Sokolowski defeated the Bethune-Cookman team of
Allexii Bassette and
Jalayah Shaw, 6-2 at the top position. In singles action, Bassette had four match points at No. 3 singles against IU Indy's Kotre. Bassette ended up falling three sets – 3-6, 6-4, 11-9.
B-CU Shaw played well at No. 1 singles against the Jaguars' Emma Dell, before suffering a 6-2, 6-3 straight-set defeat. Wildcats freshman
Zahara El-Zein played well in her No. 2 match against Chloe Bailey despite falling 6-1, 6-3 in the end.
