Miami, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman Track & Field will travel to Cobb Stadium in Miami, Florida Friday and Saturday for the Hurricane Invitational. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28 and continue through Saturday, March 29.

Last weekend, the Bethune Cookman University Track and Field team competed in Orlando, Florida at the UCF Open. The Wildcats had five top ten finishes - one in the men's 200m (Shanard Walker), two in the men's long jump (
Sytrevion Dyer,
Xavier Bogan), one in the men's 5000m (
Victor Kibet), and three in the women's javelin, discuss and shot put (
Kasie Ugeh).
Cobb Stadium serves as home to the University of Miami's track and field program. Cobb features a state-of-the-art, full size soccer playing field centered inside an eight-lane top of the line rubber track. In addition, a first-class, 500-seat stadium grandstand stands at midfield for optimal viewing for fans, parents, and students. Cobb Stadium recently hosted the 2018 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Friday will begin with multi-events beginning with the men's hammer throw at 11:00 a.m. with the women to follow. Next, the men's discus begins at 2:00 p.m. with the women to follow. The men's pole vault is also set to start at 2:00 p.m., followed by the long jump.
Running events begin at 6:40 p.m. with the women's 5000m, followed by the men's 5000m at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday's events will begin with field events at 10:00 a.m with the women's javelin, followed by the high jump, shot put and triple jump.
Saturday's running events begin at 12:00 p.m. beginning with the women's 4x100m relay. The day concludes at 4:15 p.m. with the 4x400m relays.
Junior
Kasie Ugeh has shown consistency and promise for the Wildcats this season. She is the only Wildcat woman to earn three top-ten finishes at a single event this season.This past weekend at the UCF Open in Orlando, Ugeh was impressive in multiple events. She grabbed seventh place in the javelin with a mark of 39.46m and finished ninth in the discuss with 43.18m. Rounding out the event, she earned a tenth place finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.09m.
