Last weekend, the Cats traveled to Tampa for the USF Invite. Junior Shanard Walker finished second in the 200m and holds the new B-CU record with a time of 20.44. Walker also tabbed a seventh place finish in the 100m and currently sits sixth in the country in the 200m.

Tampa also highlighted another impressive achievement. On April 15, 2025, it was announced by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) that for the second week in a row, Bethune-Cookman ranks second in the nation for team long jump average — making history as the first team composed of four freshmen to achieve this feat.
