DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Bulldogs held Bethune-Cookman to a .128 hitting percentage en route to competing a three-set sweep of the Wildcats at T.M. Elmore Gym.
Bethune-Cookman (11-10, 7-4) struggled mightily on offense in the first set, hitting 0% as a team with just eight kills.
After trailing 6-4 early on, Alabama A&M (17-9, 9-2) came alive with four straight points to take a two-point lead. From there, the Bulldogs would continue to increase their lead, eventually winning 25-18.
The Wildcats hit much better in set two as the two teams went back and forth throughout. A kill by Alaya Rhodes put B-CU ahead 16-15.
AAMU would quickly recover to take back the lead, but the Wildcats fought to eventually tie the game at 22 following a Sienna Lawrence kill.
The Bulldogs would win the set after earning three of the next four points. Rayishon Jackman picked up two kills during the run.
The third set was once again back-and-forth early. The Wildcats grabbed a narrow 11-9 lead but were unable to hold on for long.
Alabama A&M would go on a 6-1 scoring game that would put the game on ice. B-CU remained in striking distance for a while, but later, a 5-0 run would squash any hopes of a Wildcats' comeback.

- Alaya Rhodes earned her 11th double-double of the season with 14 kills and 13 digs.
- Taylor Ellis finished with 10 digs, her second-highest total of the season.
- Four Wildcats finished with at least two blocks.
- Rayishon Jackman had 13 kills to lead the Bulldogs.
Bethune-Cookman will look to rebound in Montgomery Sunday against Alabama State. The game begins at 1 p.m. EST.
