TAMPA, Fla. – B-CU struggled against high-major competition on Friday, falling to Kansas and Michigan at USF Softball Stadium.

Kansas 12, B-CU 0
Bethune-Cookman (0-2) went down in order in the first inning, as Kansas (1-0) starter Kaelee Washigton induced two groundouts and a line out.
In the bottom of the frame, the Jayhawks put up six runs on six hits, including a double, a triple, and a home run.
Kansas would score five more runs in the second to take an 11-0 lead.
The Wildcats struggled offensively over the course of the game, managing just two total hits against Washington.
Janel Morrisey and
Aysiah Gonzalez each had one hit.
Michigan 17, B-CU 0
Michigan (1-0) scored three runs in the first inning, as the Wolverines began the contest with a single, a double, and a walk.
In the bottom of the first, Wolverine starter Kat Meyers allowed a single to
Janel Morrisey but struckout the side to end the frame.
Madi Ramey led off the second with a home run, beginning a six-run inning for the Wolverines. Michigan would scored in every inning, totaling 17 runs in the game.
The Wildcats managed just three hits, as Morrisey,
Aysiah Gonzalez, and
Alana Cypress each had base knocks.
The Wildcats close out the trip to Tampa with another double-header, facing USF and Florida. The games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
