B-CU was defeated by Alabama A&M 4-0
The Bulldogs took the doubles point, as its second unit of Alecia Owegi and Nardine Salem took down
Jalayah Shaw and
Zahara El-Zein 6-3. Alabama A&M held the slight edge in the battle of the number ones, but the duel went unfinished. AAMU was awarded victory in the third match via forfeit.
In singles play, the top three duels went unfinished, while Salem and Melissa Mwakha picked up wins over
Rosalida Asumwa and
Taylor O'Neal. The final point was also forfeited to the Bulldogs.
The Southern Jaguars are 0-5 overall with losses to Alabama A&M and Jackson State in SWAC play.
The Jags have an experienced lineup, with just one freshman on their roster. Seniors Kai Wince and Tshegofatso Tsiang have been performing near the top of Southern's lineup.
