LORMAN, Miss. – B-CU Tennis fell in the opening contest of SWAC play 4-2 to Alcorn State at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.

Bethune-Cookman (2-5) and Alcorn State (4-12) split the two doubles matches. The Wildcats top duo of
Maria Romero Vargas and
Rosalida Asumwa defeated Alcorn's tandem 6-2.
In singles play, Vargas picked up a tight three-set victory over Alcorn's Amelia Tatafu, while Asumwa defeated Oihane Villanueva Lopez in just two sets.
Meanwhile,
Zahara El-Zein and
Taylor O'Neal fell short in tightly contested bouts versus Zoe Crimmel and Natalija Nikolic.
The Braves were awarded the victory with the other two points coming via forfeit.
