NEW ORLEANS — Bethune-Cookman women's tennis opens up the SWAC Tournament against the second-seeded Alabama A&M Bulldogs at the Pepsi Tennis Center. The match begins at 2 p.m. EST and will be streamed live on SWAC TV.

The Wildcats lost a 5-0 decision to Florida A&M on Easter Sunday at the Althea Gibson Tennis Complex.
Florida A&M grabbed the early edge in the doubles point, with the team's second and third units getting the job done 6-4 and 6-3.
Rosalida Asumwa and
Maria Romero Vargas won 6-2 for Bethune-Cookman (4-11, 2-6) against FAMU's number one.
In singles, Vanessa Rodriguez, Reagan Harris, Luiza Eidelvine, and Alyynah Thomas grabbed wins for the Rattlers to take the match victory. Asumwa was leading her duel 1-0 before it went unfinished.
The Bulldogs have been one of the league's top teams this season, finishing with only one loss in conference play to the top-seed Jackson State. AAMU defeated the Wildcats 4-0 back on March 7th.
Alecia Owegi has occupied the number one spot for the Bulldogs this season, finishing 2-2 in SWAC play. Junior Sofia Sotelo Raya has been excellent at number three, going 3-0 against league opponents.
Alabama A&M is 11-4 against the SWAC in doubles, having played six different tandems throughout the conference slate. The team's third duos went a dominant 5-1 during the season.
