BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — B-CU track & field received two SWAC weekly awards this week following a strong showing at the Embry Riddle Classic.
Kasie Ugeh was named women's field athlete of the week while
Sha'Nard Walker was recognized as this week's track athlete of the week on the men's side. The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced the winners Thursday afternoon from the league headquarters in Birmingham.
This is the third award received by Bethune-Cookman for the outdoor track season.
Kasie Ugeh enjoyed a historic weekend at the ERAU Classic, delivering a first-place school record finish in the discus at 49.0m. She also finished first in the shot-put at 13.87m.
Meanwhile,
Sha'Nard Walker earned a school-record first-place finish in the 200m at 20.43 in the ERAU Classic.
Track & field continues the outdoor season this weekend at the USF Invite. The event begins Friday at 9 a.m. EST.
