Hampton, Va. -
Bethune-Cookman University bowling ended their season on Saturday afternoon with a loss in the second round of the 2008 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships held in Hampton, Va.
B-CU tried to salvage a season that has been turbulent and unsteady, but the Wildcats have been holding fast to their head coach Jerry Norris nonetheless.
The 'Cats looked good in the qualifying rounds yesterday with a 200+ outing from senior Karmethia Thompson and good rounds from senior Ta'Shieka Green who has really turned it up as of late.
In the first match, B-CU took on Morgan State before eventually falling in the end. Looking good for the 'Cats was Thompson and Sutherland, while newcomers Valori Poovey and Christine Murphy see exactly what to expect from the likes of the MEAC which is notably taking the NCAA Bowling community by storm.
Facing elimination in the second round, B-CU faced off against North Carolina A&T as they eventually fell yet again.
The Wildcats head coach Norris is really anticipating a great off-season recruiting year, and he hopes to rebuild the once powerful dynasty of B-CU Bowling in a very short time. He has already erceived several verbal committments from local powerful bowlers in and around the Volusia County area ... as well as out-of-state bowlers.
