VOLLEYBALL WINS HOME OPENER

Sept. 9, 2008

The home volleyball season got off to a good start for Coach Vanessa Cogswell's Wildcats Tuesday night beating Savannah State (3-0) at Moore Gymnasium.

Jr. Chelle Ticeson led B-CU with 10 kills (10-15, 600 hitting percentage) and three blocks in the win.  Bethune-Cookman (1-7) were also led by setters Julie Gibson (22 assists) and Daryl Rodriguez (11 assists) in the 25-17, 25-15, 25-15 straight set victory over SSU.

The Wildcats had a balanced attack with all twelve players on the roster earning stats and playing time. Danielle Goodrum had 9 kills, and three players (Gibson, Kaiyana Johnson, and Reina Carson) had six kills each.

B-CU will next play at UCF Wednesday night and at Jacksonville (9/14).  The Wildcats next home match will be Sept. 23, 7 p.m. vs. Stetson.
