Game One of MEAC Doubleheader vs. Delaware State
Wildcats Win 5-4 on ESPNU National TV Over Delaware State
Back-to-back home runs by Emmanuel Castro and Chris Brown in the sixth inning led the Wildcats to a come-from-behind 5-4 win over Delaware State in game one of the MEAC doubleheader Saturday at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
The game was shown live on ESPNU National TV and the 'Cats came back from 2-1 down to score two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to take a 5-2 lead.
B-CU's Mark Brooks had a two-run single in the fifth to give his team a 3-2 lead off DSU ace Dan Perkins (5-4). Perkins has been a five-time MEAC Pitcher of the Week this season and he was tagged with his first loss this year in MEAC play
Hiram Burgos (5-3) pitched six innings for the win and settled down after the first three innings. He allowed 8 hits (7 in the first three innings), struck out six and gave up two runs.

Brown 18th Career Home Run - Saves Run With His Arm
Chris Brown was 2-3 to pace the seven-hit offense. Along with his 18th career home run, he threw out a runner at the plate trying to score on a possible sac fly to save a run and keep the game a one-run DSU lead at 2-1 in the third inning.
Delaware State 10, B-CU 8
Delaware State (19-20-1, 10-7 MEAC) won the second game of the doubleheader jumping out to a 4-1 lead in the second inning. Then the Hornets scored three more runs in the fourth inning to chase B-CU starter Eric Thomas (6-4). DSU's big hits were a two-run home run Abe Eubank and a two-run triple from Troy Drummond to take a 7-2 lead.
The Wildcats (25-24, 15-2, MEAC) closed the game to 7-6 in the bottom of the fifth inning but gave up three more runs in the top of the sixth inning to trail 10-6. B-CU's Ryan Durrence hit a two run home run, his team-leading eighth of the season - to make the score 10-8 in the bottom of the sixth. Delaware State closer Brandon Pennick came on for his fifth save of the season pitching a scoreless bottom of the seventh.
B-CU's C. J. Lauriello was 4-4 in the game, knocking in one run and scoring two others to pace the offense.
It will be Senior Day Sunday, 1 pm in the three-game series finale vs. DSU - nine B-CU seniors will be playing in their final MEAC home series game and will be honored at 12:45 prior to the opening pitch.
