The Wildcats hit 9-22 field goals (40.9%) in the first half and Hampton was 10-24 (42 %) at the intermission.

B-CU Head Coach Cliff Reed had these comments following Saturday's game.

“I'm disappointed in our effort, our energy, in our tenacity and our overall play, because those are the things that epitomize a program and how well we played early. We like the things that we did well early to be a success, and we are not doing those things," said Coach Reed.

“We still control our own destiny to be in the top 4 or 5 in this league, so that was extremely important to come out and play well against a team we've beaten before, but we didn't come out and play well, with a lot of energy and passion. Now we're trying to play for the top three. We've put ourselves in a major bind.”

“Defensively we are not guarding people and we are not rebounding the ball. The last two teams we've played, their best weapons are offensive rebounds. They both combined for 30 offensive rebounds in two games. Obviously, we are not guarding the same way and we are not rebounding and rebounding is the final result of good defense.”

“Monday, (vs. Howard) I hope they can be resilient and I wish they could take on my personality, show a lot more fight,  a lot more tenacity, will and unwillingness to surrender. That's what I hope we will come out and do and play the way we've played all year.”
