TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Friday's nationally televised softball face-off with FAMU didn't quite pan out for the Wildcats, as the game was suspended just three batters in, due to an unexpected heavy rainstorm. Allison Garcia was hit by FAMU star pitcher Amanda Reyes, and just as Cesley Tafoya stepped into the box, the skies opened up. At that point, the umpires determined the game should be delayed.
After nearly 70 minutes, and a couple of delay determinations, the umpire crew determined that the game should be called for the day, as the weather showed no signs of letting up. The game will continue at its current position at the start of Saturday's double-header, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Now a third game will be played on Sunday.
None of the three games in this crucial series will be televised, due to the rain-out and prior ESPNU commitments.
