DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Entering the second season under Head Coach Tony O'Neal, the Lady Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman bowling welcome a new face for the 2010-11 season. B-CU bowling announced this week the signing of Crystiana Butler as the new face on the squad.
Butler, hailing from Patchogue, New York, spent two seasons as the captain of her team for the Clippers of Bellport High School. Under Crystiana's senior leadership, the team reached the county playoffs for the first time in five years, and she was named to the All-County team in Suffolk County. Butler shows a great deal of potential, averaging a 165, while putting in a top score of 244.
"Crystiana brings a competitive nature to the program," says Head Coach Tony O'Neal, "plus she has family ties to the university, and truly is a child of Wildcat Maroon and Gold."
"She definitely has a bowler's IQ, with the ability to see the lane and make adjustments well. She has been working hard all summer and I'm looking forward to having her come in here and compete for a starting position right away."
Bowling season for Crystiana and her new teammates is expected to begin in late October, with the official schedule to be announced on www.B-CUathletics.com.
