GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Lady Wildcat Bowlers went head to head with one of the top teams in the conference to open Saturday's MEAC Bowling Championship at Gate City Lanes. Seventh-Seeded B-CU faced second seeded Delaware State to get started, facing an even larger challenge, having defeated DSU in the qualification round on Friday. DSU downed B-CU 4-1 in Saturday's Baker play.
The Lady Wildcats stepped up in the secondary bracket, showing they weren't ready to bow out quickly, coming back from down 3-1 to defeat divisional rival Florida A&M in a seven game Baker match, 4-3.
The Lady Wildcats fell in the third round to Hampton, who defeated the Lady Wildcats in a 4-2 Baker match to end the B-CU run at the MEAC title.
With the tournament completed, the season concludes for the Lady Wildcats and for seniors Demara Marbra, Valori Poovey, and Jazmin Sutherland, whose great experience in the main rotation helped to build the foundation for the future success of the B-CU program.
