READING, Penn. – The Lady Wildcats took on the largest field of any tournament in the nation at the KU Golden Bear Invitational over the weekend, finishing in 20th place with a record of 5-10 on the tournament after a tough stretch in Saturday's Individual Team Play.
“It was a tough weekend for us and we're still trying to get over the hump,” said Head Coach Tony O'Neal. I'm encouraged because there were glimpses of our potential and I see steady improvement each week. It's a learning experience and we'll only get better from it.”
The Lady Wildcats earned a record of 3-3 in Friday's opening Baker matches
However, on Saturday, B-CU wasn't catching the breaks they needed, wrapping up the day with a 1-5 record in Individual Team Play.
In Sunday's final playoff, B-CU went 1-2 to finish in 20th place in the power-packed tournament that featured 13 of the Nation's top 20.
The Lady Wildcats were led on the lanes by Staci Hilliard, who finished with a 190.8 average, including a high game of 244 to open Saturday's matches, ranking 33rd among the tournament's 264 bowlers.
After a heavy dose of travel and top level competition early in 2012, the Lady Wildcats are off the lanes for the week, heading back out on Feb. 10 for the Capital Classic in Dover, Del.
