DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Allan Dempster scored a career-high 22 points as Bethune-Cookman downed Trinity College 98-55 Tuesday night in Moore Gym.

Dempster, a 6-7 sophomore from Philadelphia, was 7-10 from the field and 8-9 from the line as the Wildcats (2-2) won their seventh straight home game dating back to last year.

Clemmye Owens, a 6-1 freshman from Toledo, Ohio, also had a career-high with 19 points, including five three-pointers. Barry Smith added 14 and Travis Elliott 12. All ten Wildcat players were in the scorebook early in the second half

Trailing 15-12, B-CU went on a 20-1 run to take a 32-16 lead on a Troy Simmons lay-up with 6:27 remaining. Trinity (4-2) closed to 43-33, but  the Wildcats extended the halftime lead to 47-33.

Owens had 14 second-half points as B-CU pulled away early, starting the second half with a 7-1 run.  Smith, who only scored three points in the Wildcats' first three games, had six points on dunks and 11 overall  in the second half.

Malik Jackson added eight points and seven rebounds, while freshman Tony Kynard dished out 11 assists.

B-CU hosts FIU Thursday at 7 p.m.

NOTES: Kynard's 11 assists tied him for fifth on the school's all-time single-game list and were the most for a B-CU player since Kiki Picard dished out 12 against Coppin State on January 25, 2003 ... It's a stat oddity, but with all four players who scored double-figures not starting, B-CU's bench had 74 points ... Simmons made his first start of the season in place of an injured Mikel Trapp ... B-CU shot a season-best 57.1 percent from the field.
