Bowling Travels to NCCU for MEAC Southern Division

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University bowling travels this weekend to Durham, N.C., taking part in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division. The event is being hosted by North Carolina Central University at Village Lanes, running March 1-2.

Bethune-Cookman (37-44) is competing in its third MEAC Southern Division event of the 2013-14 campaign, with the first two being hosted by Norfolk State and B-CU, respectively. Joining B-CU in this weekend's field is host NCCU, as well as Florida A&M, Norfolk State and North Carolina A&T.

In their last event, the Wildcat Invitational in DeLand, Fla., Bethune-Cookman finished seventh in a field of 12, which included six nationally ranked schools.

Freshman Ivory Miles (Bolingbrook, Ill.) has the highest score for the Wildcats this year with a 279 produced at the first MEAC Southern event in Norfolk, Va. Rachel Moore is second with a 266 registered at the AllState Sugar Bowl event to begin the year.

NCCU will hold a senior appreciation ceremony for Rae'Shelle Drayton and Kristyne Garrett prior to Saturday's bowling, which starts at 10 a.m. Sunday's play starts at 8:30 a.m.

The MEAC Bowling championships are set for March 21-23, in Chesapeake, Va.
