DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – In the final Homewood Suites Student-Athlete of the Week awards for the 2014-15 athletic term, senior women's golfer Jennifer Hide and men's redshirt sophomore men's track & field performer Ed'Ricus Williams were named as this week's winners for the period of May 11-17, 2015.
Jennifer Hide, a senior from Norfolk, England, helped the Bethune-Cookman women's golf team to an unprecedented 12th PGA National Minority Collegiate Championship title – and the fourth consecutive of its kind, over the weekend at the PGA Golf Club on the famed Ryder Course. Hide finished the 29th annual event turning in a final round 2-under-par 70, and a 3-over-par 219 total, to lead all Wildcats scorers.
Ed'Ricus Williams, a redshirt sophomore from Warrenton, Georgia, competes primarily in the jumps for the Wildcats. Over the weekend, Williams posted a career-best in the high jump at the UNF Regional Preview in Jacksonville, Florida. Williams highlighted one of four Wildcats overall to collect wins, as he produced a height of 7'1, the second time this season he has achieved a height of seven feet or higher in the high jump competition. He won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title in the event last week.
