ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman concludes its two-game "home away from home stand" Friday when it hosts Trinity College in the Flagler College gym. Tip off is 7 p.m.
The Wildcats (1-1) downed Kennesaw State 75-72 Wednesday in the Ocean Center, one of three off campus sites being used while Historic Moore Gym is being renovated after Hurricane Matthew. Bethune-Cookman will play two home games at the ICI Center on the campus of Embry-Riddle in December.
Friday's game also starts a very unique logistical challenge for the Wildcats – they'll play four consecutive games in four different time zones in a seven-day stretch. After Trinity, Bethune-Cookman plays at New Mexico State Sunday, San Diego Tuesday and Samford in Birmingham, Ala. the day after Thanksgiving.
This will be the first time Bethune-Cookman has played a game in the Ancient City since December 14, 1967 when the Wildcat downed Florida Memorial (now located in Miami) by a count of 108-85. The Wildcats' other St. Augustine connection is that their all-time leading rebounder, Carl Fuller, is a St. Augustine product.
Reggie Baker, coming off a 25-point night Wednesday, leads the Wildcats with an average of 15 points per game, followed by
Brandon Tabb at 14.0.Â
Quinton Forrest and
Diamante Lewis are the leading rebounders at 5.5 per game.
The Wildcats are 3-0 against Trinity, including a 108-54 opening victory last season.
