BCU Notes
- BCU (4-7) is coming off of an 83-78 victory at the Stetson Hatters Classic in DeLand, Florida, over SIUE on Dec. 20. Angel Golden scored 21 points as Taylor Houston scored 17, Kailyn Williams 16 and Kanesha Battle 14. The Wildcats scored 31 points in the first quarter en route to a season-high team effort in the scoring department.
- Kailyn Williams leads the Wildcats with 11.6 points per game, while fellow senior Taylor Houston and sophomore Angel Golden add 9.1 and 8.6 respectively.
- The Williams/Houston duo also heads the Wildcats on the boards, pulling down 6.4 and 6.3 rebounds each, while Williams has blocked 38 shots on the season.
Clemson Notes
- Clemson (10-2) is coming off of a 69-63 win at Jacksonville State on Dec. 21. Sophomore Aliyah Collier led the team with a double-double (19 points and 10 rebounds), while sophomore Danielle Edwards and junior Nelly Perry were also in double figures with 18 and 13 points, respectively.
- Perry leads the Tigers in scoring (14.4 ppg), assists (3.7 apg) and minutes played (31.9 mpg).
- Collier leads the team in rebounding (7.0 rpg) and blocked shots (1.1 bpg) and is third in scoring at 10.1 ppg.
- Edwards has started all 12 games for the Tigers at the point guard position and is second on the team in scoring at 10.3 ppg. She leads the team in steals (2.8 spg).
- Before falling to No. 25 Oregon on Dec. 12, Clemson won its first eight games of the season, the best start in four seasons under Head Coach Audra Smith and also the program's best start since the 1998-99 season.
- The Tigers' only two losses came to top-25 opponents (No. 25/RV Oregon on Dec. 12 in Clemson, S.C. and No. 6/6 South Carolina on Dec. 15 in Columbia, S.C.)
- Clemson received one vote in the Week 8 AP Women's College Basketball Poll released on Dec. 26.
Kailyn Williams' ….
- 4.13 blocks per game currently ranks second in the NCAA, while her six blocked shots at Southern, Stetson and against Flagler ranks 10th in the NCAA during a single game this season.
- Was named to the Stetson Hatters All-Tournament Team (Dec.19-20).
- Was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, Nov. 28.
- Posted her first double-double of the season (17 points, 13 rebounds) on Tuesday (Nov. 22) in her home state, finishing four blocks short of her season-first triple double.
Wildcat Season Facts
- Kendra Cooper joined the 1,000+ point club after a bucket in the first quarter at Prairie View on Nov. 19.
- The Wildcats were predicted to finish second in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) during the preseason standings.
- Seniors Kailyn Williams and Kendra Cooper were selected to the 2016 Preseason All-MEAC First Team, while senior Taylor Houston was named to the third team.
- The reigning 2015-16 MEAC regular-season champions lost one starter/letter winner from a season ago, returning MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, Kailyn Williams.
