DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Chase DeBonis drove in three runs, and
Demetrius Sims drove in two and scored three times as Bethune-Cookman jumped on Fairfield for five first-inning runs in a 9-5 victory Tuesday at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
DeBonis had three hits as the Wildcats (10-6) matched their offensive output against Stetson for their second highest run total of the season.
The Wildcats capitalized on three first-inning walks to take that 5-0 lead.

Cole Parks each contributed an RBI single to the outburst.
Sims gave the Wildcats a 6-1 lead in the third when he tripled to right and scored on DeBonis' sacrifice fly.
Nash and Sims scored in the fifth to give Bethune-Cookman its biggest lead at 8-2.
After Fairfield (3-8) closed to 8-5,
Danny Rodriguez posted a RBI single in the eighth for an insurance run.
On the mound,
Tyler Krull (1-1) earned the victory, scattering seven hits and striking out two in five innings of work.
Isaak Gutirrez delivered key relief in the seventh, inherited a bases-loaded, no out situation but coming out unscathed after registered a strikeout and a double play. Ivan Countinho worked 1 1/3 shutout innings to close and earn his fourth save.
Jameel Edney, Rodriguez, Sims, and Parks each had two hits for the Wildcats.
